Green Future Home Disappointed at Zero Carbon Hub Closure
Green Future Homes has expressed its disappointment at the recent announcement that the Zero Carbon Hub has ceased operations.
The Zero Carbon Hub an independent non-profit public/private partnership tasked to take day-to-day operational responsibility for co-ordinating delivery of zero carbon new homes has ceased operations following the Government's controversial decision to stop pursuing zero-homes targets.
Its London office will close but the hub’s website will remain, however, no new content will be added.
Commenting on the closure, a company spokesperson, said: “It comes as a huge disappointment the hub didn’t work out, although sadly not a shock given the Government policy withdrawal.
"The hub worked with both government and industry with the focus on raising build standards and reducing the risk associated with implementing the Zero Carbon Homes policy.
It is a huge blow for business and the workforce as it helped in the delivery of creating better quality homes.”
“We will continue to lead the UK housebuilding industry by delivering zero carbon homes that provide the most efficient way to live at the most economical price possible but continuing to deliver better quality homes is far easier when there is sensible regulation from Government.”
