MEP Martina Anderson Visits Green Future House
Member of European Parliament Martina Anderson took time out of her busy EU schedule to show her commitment for sustainable home building and see first-hand how a zero carbon house works. The house, which was officially opened in March 2012 by the Environment Minister, Alex Attwood, showcases a pioneering blueprint build which demonstrates how affordable and accessible it is to build an energy saving zero carbon house.
Spokesperson of company, John McClatchey said energy bills for the detached five bedroom bungalow, costs approximately £300 per year, in spite of it being over 3,000sq ft.
He said: “The creation of the house addresses critical questions around affordable, energy efficient homes for social housing associations, the government, developers and homeowners.
“The need for the industry to unlock the key to creating low-cost, volume zero carbon housing is now more vital than ever and at Green Future Homes, we have the answer.”
Green Future Homes welcomed the Sinn Fein MEP’s visit. A spokesperson for the company said the support and commitment it is receiving from government is very encouraging. He said: “Green Future is paving the way forward, enabling for the first time ever zero carbon homes within the financial reach of just about everyone.”
With homeowners not at the hands of volatile energy markets as no reliance on oil and gas, Green Future is delivering homes of the future, today.
